The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Inpatient Expansion Project represents a significant advancement in pediatric inpatient and critical care capacity on the hospital’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio. As part of a broader master plan, the project includes the construction of a new high-rise critical care facility along with the renovation and expansion of existing support spaces and infrastructure. Spanning more than one million square feet, the project is currently under construction and will open in phases in 2028.

This brief presentation and guided walk-through of mock-up spaces will highlight and overview of the new building and how different types of mock-ups can inform design, enhance decision-making, and support operational planning. Attendees will gain insight into the strategic value of mock-ups in complex building projects and learn how to appropriately scale them to meet project goals.
